Shrink Wrap Soap

Shrink Wrap Bags for Soap

Shrink wrapping is a simple solution to get your handmade soap creations packaged in a semi-professional fashion without breaking the bank. In this live broadcast I demonstrate how I prepare my soap to be shipped using my makeshift shrink wrap system and print at home labels.

Supplies Used to Wrap Cold Process Soap

With just a few supplies, you can shrink wrap your handmade goodies and label them to be delivered to your customers. In my opinion the shrink wrap is an economical way to bump up the packaging of products.

3 Tips for Shrink Wrapping Natural Soap

  1. Sizing Matters – Generally a 6×6 bag will be large enough for a standard bar of soap, if you make tall and skinny bars or hightop soaps you may run out of space. If this is the case you will not be able to seal them and will need to find a larger bag.
  2. Seal Completely – When using your heat sealer, make sure the shrink bag is completely sealed. If you have additional space left or open spaces it will cause problems when you use your heat gun.
  3. Check the temperature of your heat gun – Heat guns have various heat settings. Start with the lowest setting and work your way up. If you have the heat gun set too high it will pop your shrink wrap bags and you will waste a lot of them trying to figure it out. Also keep the heat gun at least 2 to 3 inches away from the bar while sealing.

The New Soap Makers Cookbook Series

During the live video a broadcast, one of the viewers ordered The New Soap Makers Cookbook. You can see more information about the books here and get your own copy right in  the shop.  This series was written with the beginner in mind to provide all the information you need to get started making your own soap at home.

I hope you found the video and tips helpful, if you have any questions, drop me a message below. How do you package your products? Do you have any suggestions for new soap makers that are just getting started and looking for packing options?

Until next time.
