COVID-19 Corona Support
More than Soap. We can all play a part. As Corona has had a world-wide impact and our speakers are spread across the world we wanted to give back. Each speaker has identified a local organization to which 10% of all proceeds will be donated in support of Corona Relief.
Here are a few of the designated organizations from the speakers local hometown
Zakia Ringgold – Philadelphia
The People’s Emergency Center (PEC) is a non-profit organization with a mission to nurture families, strengthen neighborhoods and drive change in West Philadelphia. PEC offers more than 250 affordable housing units, job training, parenting and early childhood education, financial education and planning, life skills and technology coursework. PEC seeks to change the life trajectory for the women and children who seek its services and inspire them to aspire to new heights. Zakia has designated People’s Emergency Center as her local organization in Philadelphia.
Connie Sue Gilkeson-Boggess – West Virginia
River Cities Therapy and Recreation Center, Inc. Founded in 1994, this program provides equine assisted therapy and recreation programs to people of all ages. Located in Milton, WV, the impact of the Covid-19 (Corona Virus) has decreased all funding sources. We house 8 horses and with out community support as a 501c3, we don’t exist. Rock Ed Philippines is a volunteer group working to provide venues and events for alternative education. via music, the arts, poetry, sports, photography, fashion, graphic design, literature, new approaches to science, film, cultural studies, theatre, dance, and any other way except being in a classroom. They are currently organizing efforts to provide front-liners and hospitals of PPE’s, food, transport and other assistance needed to combat COVID-19.
